Meet Your Coaches — Tyler and Jeff

Tyler Welch, group coach

A Pennsylvania native, Tyler earned a degree in Exercise Science from Penn State University. On a fateful trip to the Grand Canyon, he challenged himself to run to the Colorado River and back (20 miles) with no knowledge of trail running, gear, nutrition, or hydration. He made it out alive (barely). But it was during that serendipitous Canyon sufferfest that he found a passion for ultra trail running. Tyler soon relocated to Flagstaff, Arizona, and has since completed nearly every trail on the South Rim and run the iconic R2R2R route multiple times. After finishing his first 100-mile race, Jeff mentored Tyler to an 11th place finish at Cocodona 250 in 2022.

Tyler has worked in various gyms over the years, both as a personal trainer and co-owner. He specializes in strength and conditioning, and how to individualize training strategies for each athlete. Tyler’s positive, friendly nature is balanced with an extreme work ethic, and he enjoys sharing his knowledge. He’s passionate about how strength and conditioning, coupled with nutrition and endurance training is a recipe for health and longevity. Tyler balances his running with a full-house family, and understands the unique challenges involved in harmonizing family, work and training. He lives and trains in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Weekly Group Video calls run by head coach, Jeff Browning

Jeff will greet you with an initial on-boarding call and run the bi-weekly Group Google Meet video calls to field questions and give guidance and tips to the Group.
